Background:
We have a couple of different family members who are each having July weddings.
Instead of buying a gift, we bought each of them a Visa card that can be used anywhere like a regular credit/debit card (vs a WalMart card that can be used only at WalMart).
I can't activate it...or more like I won't. It cost me fifty-six bucks each to buy the cards and load $50 on each... but when I called the 800 number (and also tried the online activation) they expect me to give them all sorts of information that I'm not willing to do! Like my fricken social security number!! I kid you NOT.
It's like buying flowers for someone and being required to write down your SSN on the card before sending them or giving them! What is up with THAT??

Cops allowed to seize firearms before crime is committed
Excerpt:

A new report to the Connecticut state legislature shows police have used the state's unique gun seizure law to confiscate more than 1,700 firearms from citizens based on suspicion that the gun owners might harm themselves or others.
The state's law permits police to seek a warrant for seizing a citizen's guns based on suspicion of the gun owner's intentions, before any act of violence or lawbreaking is actually committed.

Prior to the seizure of one man’s firearms, police cited in their application the man’s “extensive self-protection measures” that were installed on his property, “including alarms, cameras and spotlights.”

Sum it up with this:
Having a home alarm system, security cameras and floodlights is a cause for police to confiscate your guns on suspicion.
A neighbor who doesn't like you can call the police to have them come and take your guns.

Anniversary

Some anniversaries aren’t so happy. Today is the anniversary of a horrible incident that took place in Idaho.
An incident that gave voice to the silent spinning of the wheels that are slowly turning us into a socialist country: Ruby Ridge. If that didn’t make the citizenry balk at government intrusion and control, I don’t know what would.
I’m not going into all the details and facts because lord knows Google can help you with that in 30 seconds or less. What I intend to do is shine some light on the communistic slant that is tilting our country and throwing off our equilibrium.
Let’s break some things down. Since Idaho was the focus that day, let’s use them for reference with the first point.
Socialistic thinking:

1. Abolition of property in land, and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
What does that mean? In Idaho alone, 64% of the state is public land, held 'in trust' by either the state or the federal government. To use that land, people have to go to the appropriate agency and rent it or they have pay royalties on anything they remove from it. They must also pay 'use fees' even if all they want to do is go camping.
Where does that money go? Straight into the agency's treasury and from there to the state or federal treasury.
Just because 64% is 'public' land don’t think the other 36% must be 'private'. It’s not really. The state levies a property tax on private' land, and if you don't pay, they order a tax sale to get its money one way or the other. If citizens don't pay, they lose their land. Does that sound like the citizen is really a 'property owner' to you?

2. A heavy progressive, or graduated, income tax.
This is self explanatory. Just ask your neighbor if there's an income tax. The Federal government and all but a few state governments impose some form of income tax.

3. Abolition of all right of inheritance.
Now what does that mean and how can the government enforce that? One day, your spouse dies and you sit down to see what you have. Soon, someone from the state knocks on the door saying there's a small matter of inheritance tax…28%-37% of the estate. How much are you planning on leaving the state?

4. Municipal police power.
This means that if you get hostile and belligerent to the government, they can take everything away from you under the guise of IRS liens, tax levies, seizures, fines, and anything else they can think of... And, if you're still mad, and complaining? Then they get to throw you in jail or shoot you. Don’t think that can happen? Take a moment and think about the anniversary of today,… or Waco, or the Mormons who had their children kidnapped, or the Montana Freemen... well, you get the idea.

5. The fake Federal Reserve system;
Fake? What does that mean? It means that it’s not real money floating around out there. Ever read what it says at the top? It says “Federal Reserve Note” as in promissory note. As far as 'real' money left out there… not much to speak of. We’re moving straight into electronic money, completely controlled by the banks, who ultimately answer to the Fed. We're already on our way with things like credit cards, checking cards, debit cards, direct deposit, etc.

6. Centralized communication and transport.
Let’s start with the myth of the private sector first:
Transport? Driver's licenses, vehicle registration, vehicle licensing… catching on? Now about the “public”: government regulated planes, trains and buses.
Communication? TV, radio, cable, newspapers all bow to the mighty FCC. Currently the fight is being waged about the internet.

7. Instruments of production owned by the State.
You’re probably thinking corporations like GM, Ford, US Steel don’t apply because they’re privately owned. Well, every factory in the US operates and exists within the confines and constraints of the government, which licenses and regulates their existence and activities in return for a portion of the proceeds (called taxes). Sounds like ownership.

All in all, our country is sliding towards a point of no return unless the people look to our history for the answers. We salute the flag and sing of freedom, but we really aren’t free. Two hundred years ago we were. If you look back to what gave us our freedom, the answers are all there.

The STATE of our nation

Tyranny is oppression and dictatorship. It means that your life is not your own to lead so far as the state is concerned. If you don’t think we’re headed that direction, then you haven’t been paying attention. The tyrannical foot is already in the door… but it was "for the children".

Massive amounts (billions) of tax-payer dollars have been wasted on a failing system called Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). Time after time there have been children screaming and crying at the top of their lungs, "please don't take me away! Mommy, mommy, daddy, daddy!" All the parents can do is stand by helplessly as the police forcefully kidnap their children away. Sometimes for years to come and sometimes mistakenly, but never are the children rightfully returned until the damage has already been done. A quick Google search of "DCFS victims," will turn up many horrifying true-stories that will make any parents blood boil. To make matters much worse, if someone doesn't like you, all they have to do is make one phone call to DCFS and your life can be ruined for the next several years. I happen to believe in God-given rights as a parent. That is to say...I brought my child into the world and I (not the government) am directly responsible for the safety and well-being of my child. Unfortunately, often the government (DCFS) and the parents disagree on what is best for the child. This is especially true when it comes to medicines (drugs).

Not too many years ago, the pharmaceutical industry convinced President Bush to support mandatory mental-health screening for every child in America, including preschool children, and the industry is now working to convince Congress as well. But mandatory screening alone is not what the pharmaceutical industry wants. The real payoff for the drug companies is the forced drugging of children that will result – as we learned tragically with Ritalin – even when parents refuse. For example, in 1995, the state of Texas launched the Texas Medication Algorithm Project. Many children have suffered harmful effects from these drugs. Yet some parents have even been charged with child abuse for refusing to drug their children.
Sometimes it’s as simple as a rambunctious child and a teacher’s note. Sometimes it’s life and death like Katie Wernecke. It doesn’t always have to be a kid, though. Remember Terri Schiavo?
She was never diagnosed as terminally ill, but she was starved to death endorsed by the state. Judicial torture & murder.

It’s not just individuals either, it can be occupation of a family’s home property such as Ruby Ridge or it can be a police state of a whole city like New Orleans or even a whole country (look around at the state of security and the hoops we jump through because of 9/11).

Speaking of “Homeland Security”, grant-giving authority was handed over to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and now, states have to propose plans about how the money will be used to support Homeland Security missions. Largely, it’s been spent on the militarization of police, even so much as outfitting them with tanks.

Now you can’t tell the difference between cops and real soldiers. These are today’s cops, and they aren't S.W.A.T.:

Wonder what they’ll use their tanks for next. You know… since they’ve already got the shooting dogs and terrorizing sleeping citizens thing down pat.

4th Amendment Violation - for the children...

This story from Minnesota is all over the net and news.
Police say they entered this homeowner's house at 3AM because his door was "ajar" and they wanted to alert him.
They woke him up by pounding on his bedroom wall and shining flashlights in his face to tell him about his opened door out of concern for the children in the home.
Well that's their story anyhow.
