Finally!

It's been the weirdest weather for this late in the year ever! But it's finally chilling down and becoming the season I love best. Flannel over a Henley... maybe a jean jacket... a fire in the pit and candles around the deck with a brisk chill in the air. I love autumn. The trees are changing and the leaves are falling. They whisk up around you like little tornados and crunch when you step on them. When it's *just* chilly enough, you can see your breath suspended in the air in front of you. I just love that.
The fall bloomers are getting pretty:

And the sky...
What can I say about a chilly fall sunset?
Nothing.
It speaks for itself:

The pieces that compose my neighborhood (houses, driveways, street) all immerse themselves in pink in acquiescence to the mood of the sky, as does the field just beyond:

And what of that field?
Today, is the day it gives back:

The way of fall is "all things change"...as do I. Time for the ritual haircut for Locks of Love. Details to follow soon.
