We crossed over Lake Salamonie which usually looks like this (photo courtesy of IndianaNewsCenter.com) ...
But even with the rain we've had, it was nowhere near that.
The basin was dirt dry, except for a sliver of a creek-like twist near the edge;
Most of the drive pretty much looked like this;
Spring springing...
Obligatory Hoosier barn...
Until we got closer to Lake Schafer... I bet this is beautiful in the Fall!
We pulled up to the B&B...it was so quiet...
Boardwalks, wrap-around porches, docks and piers...It was everything a quiet "get-away" should be;
The inside was just as inviting as the outside.
A few steps from bed would have you out on the balcony with your morning coffee, overlooking the lighthouse and the lake...
Check out the choice of art on the wall...
A closer look, looks like a Colt 1862 Navy Pocket model (percussion revolver)...
And the best sign EVER;

I love spending time just watching water.
Saw a random skier.
Watched him jump...
And then wipe out.
Also saw this very cool thing...
Look a little closer, by the base of that Shepherd hook plant hanger...
Even closer... Yep, that's a mommy keeping about five eggs warm. Aww...
A little drive around the lake and into town...WHAT?? They have it GREAT here!!
Just kidding...it was in-between changing. But totally photo-worthy!
What to do for dinner...ahhh, a little hideaway the locals recommended.
Mmm...calamari!
Tentacle anyone?
I think the Mister was happy to spend time with me.
I liked it, too.
Nightfall was peaceful and gorgeous...
Time to disarm and start a cozy fake fire...
...and spend time in the ginormous jacuzzi...
It was a really nice get-away, and we needed that.
Kiss kiss.
Until next time...and there WILL be a next time!!

You'd think a Kimber would be water proof.
Silly Don. Kimbers don't float.
I missed the pictures of MJ enjoying the trip...........
John, she enjoyed it a whole different way... by having the house to herself while we were gone! :P
Happy Anniversary! The place looks great. Do they allow dogs? :)
Thanks!
I think they must, because we saw one on the landing on the way up to our room.
