Keeping it in the Family

The husband unit has a nephew who is taking an interest in firearms and shooting.
He hasn't purchased a gun yet, nor has he been shooting since the early 90s, but he already has his LTCH permit which means he's legal to transport whenever he does buy one.
After talking to him quite a bit recently, he's not only decided to set up a range time to meet with me, he's going to the gun show with us next month and letting me help him shop around (yay!).
I've gone over the four rules and we've established which is his dominant eye.
We've talked about grip, stance, sight picture, all that stuff...
he's getting pretty jazzed up about going to the range and putting it into practice.
Tomorrow! Woot!
I'll be teaching him with the Smith & Wesson 22A that I bought for the hubby on his birthday a couple years back.
I'm a good gift-picker-outer! :D

Anyhow, I hope the kiddo has fun and learns things - meaning I hope I say the right things, don't teach bad form, and don't teach bad habits that have to be unlearned.
I say "kid", but he's 30...that's still "kid", though. :p
The hubby will most likely take some pics and if I get permission from him, I'll post a few up.
I'm sure I will...it's good to be the favorite aunt! :)

Way to go Annie!
I remember when mini wasn't too keen on firearms. You taught her well. No?

Don't doubt yourself. You're gonna have a grand ol time.

We always look forward to reading the adventures of Annie in the shooting world. You've certainly come a long way in a short time. There are some who strive for many years to gain what you seem to have come by naturally.
Good job on helping your nephew.
Hope he realizes what a fount of knowledge and skill he's tapped into.

Thanks, peeps.
And Anonymous, thanks for the kind words but trust me...I don't come by anything naturally except moments of "Duh".
I wish I did. It's not my goal to be anything other than proficient for the sake of preservation of me and mine...and if that makes my family and my coach proud, then BONUS.
:)
