Police State/Nanny State

How about this?
You can be in your own house on your own private property and get a “disorderly conduct” violation resulting in a possible three month long jail sentence and a $300 fine for cursing in your own home. That’s what’s happening to Dawn Herb of Scranton, PA. She was frustrated and was yelling. The guy next door yelled through an open window, “Shut the **** up!” and she yelled back, “Mind your own business!” Turns out, the neighbor was an off duty cop who took personal offense and wrote her up for her “Potty mouth”. (That’ll be funnier if you click the link and read why she was yelling).

Or how about this one?
Did your grandpa ever hitch a wagon to a lawn mower and drive you around for fun? What if instead of just you, it was a bunch of your friends too? And instead of a lawn mower, it was a tractor? And instead of a wagon, it was a hitched up boat? And instead of a joyride on the lawn, grandpa was taking you to a King Tut’s drive in for some kitchy food and a fun spin.
Well, an unlucky gramps was trying to do just that, but the po-po rolled up on him and he was given a verbal warning because the children were riding unsecured and *near* an area known for heavy traffic. He was also driving an unregistered, uninspected vehicle on city streets. He also had to call for someone else to come pick up the children and make sure they were placed in proper child safety seats.
