Kevin Costner, you putz!

From NRA news, all emphasis mine:

Actor Kevin Costner has apparently joined the ranks of those celebrities who think it’s OK for them to have a gun, but not OK for other, less-famous people.
Costner recently told World Entertainment News Network that he is
urging lawmakers to come up with strict new gun legislation.
According to the report, Costner feels that legislators should get tough with firearm owners, whose practices HE believes could harm others. Yet he somehow sees HIS gun ownership *differently*.
“I’m a hunter, I hunt, but I think there should be gun laws,” he told the news network. “I think there should be A LOT of gun laws. I don’t want to lose *my* shotgun, but there’s a real good reason why I use my shotgun. It came from my grandpa. His cheek was on it. My dad’s cheek was on it and I go out and hunt with my dogs.”

Kevin Costner is just like many of the other people who conveniently adjust their ways of thinking once they become famous. In my opinion, celebrities, political figures and countless other rich people are good at telling the public what laws should exist and how those directives should not ever apply to them because they are quote “Special”. It’s as if the world should give them unique privileges because they are somehow better than the common individual. I don’t believe they deserve anything extra because of who they are or what they do. Fame and fortune doesn’t always go with good character.

We all came into this world with nothing and we all will leave with nothing.

I hate it when you hear of a gun control advocate that preaches "no guns" yet uses armed body guards.

Hey JL -- agree with your comment 99%.... one little change:

We all came into this world with nothing and we all will leave with only our reputation.

Costner may be a fine actor, but that's not enough qualification to let him speak for the rest of us when it comes to deciding who will and who won't have guns. After all, there is some kid out there right now who one day will buy her first gun and then pass it on to her child... and right on down the line... just like the heirlooms in the Costner family. Unless, of course, guys like Costner bring that to an end.
