Wedding Bells, Casings and Shells...

When I got married, I wore a blue dress and stood in front of a judge in a county courthouse.
Never really had the inclination to do up the whole "tons of lace and ribbons" deal, nor try to be a princess for a day.
HOWEVER...
If I could have a "do over", I SOOOO know how I'd want to do it up!
I'm thinkin' some re-exchanging vows on the 25th should be a big event!!
And this is the coolness level I'd strive for!
Click the pic for biggification!! You do it!

I was thinking about naming this entry "Take a Seat" because of what I observed happening, but I decided against it.
This was going to be an entry about my kid, but it took a weird turn.

We went downtown to see our progeny take part in the parade that kicks off the little festival that’s being held this weekend.

We staked out a spot to put our camp chairs and waited for the fire trucks that signaled the launch of the spectacle.
Right behind the cop car was the first flag of the parade being presented proudly by the Boy Scouts.

I was surprised by the people who remained seated, the hats that remained on heads, and the hands that never covered hearts.

The next flag was carried by the high school band.

I started snapping pics of the band and realized that this second flag was eliciting the same non-response. I thought maybe people were waiting for the flag to be carried by soldiers before they thought they should stand up. I decided to keep snapping pictures to see…
Nope:
Flag, flag, flag...

Sitting:

Sitting, sitting:

Maybe a whole flatbed full of veterans would do the trick!

Hmm...
In the end, more enthusiasm was expressed over this parade entry:

I guess it’s OK, because there was a flag:
