A man in his mid-twenties came into the shop tonight. He did very strange things and made extremely ominous comments...
My co-worker, another customer, and I ALL thought the guy was looking for a way to surreptitiously load a store gun and start firing at anyone/everyone. First time I have ever felt unsafe to that extent there. My heart was racing, I was borderline nauseous and sweating...because if the situation escalated, I knew what was going to happen...and I knew being the only one there carrying, I would be the one to stop it.
I'm so glad it didn't.

Glad nothing happened. Why are you the only armed employee there? Need to fix that...
Jay said the same thing.
Of the five "regulars" who work there, two never carry. Ever. My store manager only carries sometimes (and when he does, I find his gun laying around all the time! I even hid it once to make a point), as does the one co-worker I usually am paired with on my shifts. I'm the only one that does so 100% of the time.
There's a loaded Benelli around the corner in the office, but if you're *not* in/near the office, it might as well be a lamp.
Besides, Zoomie... if/when anything hits the fan, the only person I'm going to put my faith in is me. If anybody else steps up, that's great. If not, I'm not going to put myself in the position of counting on help, only to find out I shouldn't have.
Holy crap, Batman. I'm glad you are OK. Why in the world IN A GUN STORE of all places are you the only one carrying? Everyone in the store I frequent, from the sales clerks, to the smith, etc. - carry. You 'splain to the manager that it promotes sales if anything else. Good grief I'm speechless.
Glad it worked out ok. You have no obligation to let anyone handle a firearm. You gotta be very careful these days. And it could be one of Holder's goons trying to set you up.
