A great time to be a Cajun!

I ran across something on the net that made me think about my brother. I'm actually going to give him a call and let him gloat because that's the kind of sister I am.:D

About 30 years ago, he moved to Louisiana and although he talks a big game about moving somewhere else, I think it would likely take a massive quantity of C4 under his hiney to unroot him. He went totally native on me and a lot of times I have to tell him to repeat what he just said because I don't understand what he just said in English...God help me when he tosses in French with a jacked up accent.

Anyhow, here's a quote about what Louisiana is doing next month:
Louisiana has adopted a program we’d like to see state governments copy nationwide. From September 4th through 6th (Fri-Sun), Louisiana shoppers can buy guns, ammo, and hunting supplies without paying a penny of sales tax. The Sales Tax Holiday is authorized by a new Louisiana statute that waives gun-related sales and use taxes each year on the first consecutive Friday through Sunday in September. Now that’s a “stimulus program” all shooters can support.

The sales tax holiday will take place Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, pursuant to the Louisiana Second Amendment Weekend Holiday Act. This law (Act 453 of the Regular Session of the 2009 Louisiana Legislature) provides a three-day exemption from state and local sales and use taxes on consumer purchases of firearms, ammunition, and hunting supplies.
Well, there's only one thing left to say:
Laissez les bons temps rouler!!

Oh, the gubmint officials are just trying to make up for the guns they confiscated from the citizens after Katrina. But a savings of 6%....hmmm. Would never work here - they just keep raising our taxes.

I wish they would do that here but our state government is too busy trying to turn the state into California and milking every last dime out of its citizens to satisfy the Sierra Clubs agenda.

Colorado is turning into the bastion of tree hugging liberal asswipes

As an aside, I listen to Guntalk radio on sundays and since the host Tom Gresham is from Louisiana I'm sure this will be discussed
