Elsewhere in the intarwebs, I read a question that was posed about dying. Not really "dying", but more along the lines of "after". The question was, "what kind of music would you want played at your funeral?"
Having recently attended too many funerals, it made me remember all the "oh, he would have liked that" and "oh, she'd have thought this was good" comments.
Well, there's one way to know for sure. Plan it yourself.
Funerals are so much worse on the people you love and leave behind if you leave everything up to them. I'm totally putting things together right down to having a box somewhere with everything in it from paperwork to the clothes to put me in. Why cause someone who's grieving over you so much more pain by giving them all that crap to wade through?
So... in no particular order, I'm burning a CD with:
Dust in the Wind – Kansas
Just Remember I love you – FireFall
How Far is Heaven – Los Lonely Boys
Whenever you remember – Carrie Underwood
My my my – Rob Thomas
Vienna Waits – Billy Joel
In the morning – Mary Mary

A friend reminded me of a quote the other day that I'm totally having displayed somewhere near me: "Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened! ~ Dr.Seuss"

It is my desire that we will both live long and healthy lives. However, I hope that I do not live long enough to attend your funeral because I could not bear to let you go.
Nobody is promised a tomorrow.
But personally, I hope I live long enough not to have to attend my funeral either.
