Some time back, I bought some .45ACP dummy rounds to practice clearing malfunctions safely in my home.
I was partly using this video as a tutorial with my Kimber Ultra Carry II.
Isn’t she pretty?

I noticed that my magazine is feeling like it’s getting hung up about half way to home when I’m slapping it back in. It won’t go the rest of the way without a side to side jostle and a harder slap (which is ultimately pinching the bajeebus out of my palm).
I turned the gun upside down, dropped the mag in to see how far it was going on its own and then pressed the mag release which should have dropped it the rest of the way in. It’s getting hung up with a good inch (plus) left to go.
No weird scuff marks or scratches on the mag, and nothing inside the gun for it to get hung up on.
I guess it’s one of those things that only has one fix: shoot it more.
I’ll be doing just that on Saturday, which reminds me that I need to go to my local gun store and buy ammo to do so since the big box store near me does not carry .45 caliber any longer.

Huh, no .45 at the big box? In Indiana? wtf?
Nice gun, I traded my HK 45 USP in, and that had a 4 inch barrel. Yours looks shorter. One question - do you get a lot of muzzle flip? Mine was uncontrollable (by me anyways) hence it is gone. Thoughts appreciated.
Oh, there's .45 to be found in big box stores...just not the one that I frequent (anymore).
Mine's a 3" barrel and it can get away from me if I don't follow Ayoob's instructions about using a "Crush Grip". Best advice ever.
