I’m talking about seven layers of musical history in the form of a pyramid of tunage that spans the ages…right on the edge of Lake Erie. Always changing, always improving, always providing a portal to step into the world of rockers of the past… walking the way back to present day through everything from viewing artifacts to listening to hours of music without repeats. A veritable timeline through the lives of the Rock n’ Roll greats.
I want to walk through and see the mixing board from Abbey Road and read the music written by John Lennon. I want to see the guitar held by the King of Rock n’ Roll. I want to see the secrets of making Keith Richards look so life-like. :p
I want to see it all, but I fear I’ll become spellbound and trapped forever in the 80’s.
Before I lost my gainful employment, I was planning a trip for MiniMe and myself. As soon as that turns back around, I’ll pick up where I left off. I want to book a hotel room over night, drive us to the airport, fly to Cleveland, take a taxi to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and spend the day.
MiniMe lives and breathes music and I know she’ll love it. She’ll probably school me on the new inductees because I’m not kidding…I’m stuck in the 80’s. :-D
We’ve been talking about it a little and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to make this journey together before she gets much older. I need a mom/daughter retreat. And so does she.
"So find a place, grab a space, and yell and scream for more...Cleveland rocks!"

R&R HoF is way rad. We've been there a few times, even saw some bands there, including Bad Company. They always have good stuff there. One time, they had the whole top floor turned into a "The Wall" exhibit.
You'd might as well turn it into a weekend instead of just a day. There's a killer science museum type thing right next door (we saw Body Worlds there and there's always lots of cool nerdy type stuff there). The new Browns (barf) stadium is right there too, The Jake (Progressive field, now) and "The Q" are just a few blocks away (right by the place we saw Megadeth a couple weeks ago) and a huge mall if you're into that type of thing. There's a train/MTA station right across the parking lot from the HoF too, so you can get around the area, or you can walk to see all the cool stuff in the surrounding several blocks.
And, unless you're totally loaded, don't eat at the Century or Millennium or whatever the restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton is. My girl and I went there for some occasion and dropped $200+ on our meal. It was really good food and it was fun to see all the rich people though.
Yeah! I was looking at all the other stuff to do around there (online). We only will be able to make it an overnight, so we're probably just doing the R&R HoF. At some point I'd LOVE to go to the house from the movie "A Christmas Story", too. I'm a devoted fan!! :-D
As far as the other museums and such, we've overkilled that in Chicago.
Thanks for the restaurant tips!
