Here's a little tidbit from rimfire buddy "RayDiffraction".Let's pretend something for a moment.
Let's say you're an Alderman who writes Chicago's gun laws. Let's say the law is so unforgiving, if you miss the registration date, you can be refused a renewal that could spiral into the circumstance of never being able to register your guns again, thus putting you in violation of the law...simply by owning "unregistered guns".
Now let's pretend you are too dang lazy to care for your own renewal procedure and you rely on one of your trusty staffers to just go ahead and take care of it for you. You know, gather your info, take your paperwork, write your check, and just basically take care of your personal gun information so you don't even have to get your hands dirty with the ink from the renewal date stamp. (Let's not even talk about the fact that it was probably meant to be an "on the clock" job, paid for on Joe Taxpayer's dime!!)
Ohhh...but your staff member turns out to be a slacker like you (you have taught them well) and your registration has expired! Let's say you take your information to Chicago's Police Department and the Gun Registration Section refuses to bend the rules for you! OH! What now??
Thinking on your feet, you quickly grab a pen and write up a spankin' new Amnesty Law to save your butt from being in violation of your own law!
How about this instead? Instead of writing a law and then writing another law to safety net (or enforce) the previous law...why don't you just leave the law abiding gun owners of Chicago alone and get rid of the freaking "registration" laws altogether!
I'm gonna have to cruise on over to LITGMW and Chicago Boyz to keep an eye out for this and see what they have to say if they take interest in it. I'd be interested to hear Carl from Chicago's opinion.

Known fact that a Euphorian "lawmaker" feels as though they are above even the laws they help to force down the public's throat. When they realize even they are not immune to the law enforcement/judicial systems grasp ,they just slip a slight change in to allow themselves to skirt said "laws".
When people wake up to the mysterian /euphorian crapola ...things may change ...until that happens keep taking your blood pressure meds.
