Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides prosthetic hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure and quite a large number is from the treatments for different types of cancer. The prostheses they provide for kids helps to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Donated hair has to be at least 10 inches from tip to tip.
It can’t have been bleached (permed or colored is ok) and it has to be secured in a ponytail or braid by an elastic band.
For more info about donating, watch the video here!
Here’s my before and after from this time:

It is a very sweet and kind thing that you are doing. I'm guessing those who have received your gift deeply appreciate it.
