Lock it up and toss the key.

Robyn Ringler (the advocate for Gun Control who writes the Under Fire blog)
Has had enough of being corrected by the pro-gun community for her misinformation.
She’s turning off the comments function and she says it’s because she’s received "ugly" and hateful comments, and that may be partially true. You really can’t create an extremely controversial dialog and not expect the occasional personal attack in your feedback.
However, most of the comments I’ve read that oppose her ideals have been factual information and corrections, with links to reliable sites.
Not to mention the fact that some of the accurate information is deleted, but the comments that border “libel” are allowed to stay, enabling her to appear the victim.
I will admit that the anonymity afforded by the net turns *some* otherwise “normal” people into blithering idiots, and I’m sure she really has received her share of nasty uncalled for personal attacks. Nevertheless, this doesn’t explain why the various civil informative comments have been deleted.
Is it really a surprise that someone advocating taking away one right, would also advocate taking away another? She operates like any other form of media: if it's an intelligent, comprehensive statement of endorsement, it's not dramatic enough to keep interest. Put the spotlight on the hicks with rude comments so she can be a "victim of gun toters" in some aspect of her own mind.It justifies turning off the comments containing factual information that makes her look uninformed and ignorant.
