I talked him into getting some pistol time in and plinking a little with the Smith & Wesson .22A for good measure.
I carefully packed up EVERYthing we'd need, and even pre-loaded some mags for the "instant fun" effect. No less than a brick each, plus the "fun" targets, and all the safety stuff... I was ready to jet!
We chit chatted all the way there about the Lux and stuff I'd been reading on the net to tweak it.
I was getting so excited to get there so he could shoot it and get hooked -thereby wanting to go more often!
We pull in the lot and there's a piece of paper taped to the door.
I guess buying the Lux yesterday made one heck of a boat payment:

Major bummer! I know you're an offhand shooter rather than a bench shooter, but I can't wait for you to give it enough of a try to see just how well that rifle shoots.
It must be a conspiracy! Gun Guy#2 said, "Next time you come in, we'll bring over a this little thing that you can prop up that gun on and see how it shoots from being completely still."
I said, "You mean a bench rest?"
The look he gave me told me that he didn't think I'd know what the heck he was talking about.
