We browsed the fishing stuff, gazed at the four wheelers and boats, spent much time in the camping section and bought a few things for our upcoming trip, and picked a few “must haves” from the clothing section. Of course we grabbed some lunch there and also spent time in the aquarium “cave”, but the apex of the trip for me centered once again in the firearms department. I left with an assortment of goodies that I dared not draw ONE MORE BREATH without! A few hundred of those target bulls eye dots that explode in a different color when hit, some really decently priced ammo, a fancy schmancy ammo box, and a new speed loader for the revolver. I bought some rifle cleaning things that were a “must” with the CZ on the way, and then before we left, I made sure to grab the obligatory t-shirt, pin, and coffee mug while JL grabbed his usual fix of package after package of cinnamon licorice.
I actually bought a cool looking slip on boot for the Lux, but returned it before we left the next day, thinking that it may alter the length of pull too much. I opted to just get creative and do my own thing if I feel moved enough to create one with the leather and rawhide that I have.
All in all, it was a fun time and we did something this time that we’ve neglected in past trips. We went downtown to see some of the store front shops and drove out a little further to go to the dam and see what else the town had to offer.
First off, we checked into our hotel and dropped off the bags:

Then we drove to the other side of town and walked around the dam:

There was this funky little hippy store that I wanted to go in, but it was closed already, so I only got to peek in the windows:

We hit several of the antique stores and found lots of things that reminded us of our own childhoods (remember the Farmer “See and Say”? The one with a pull string and ring, not the new fangled lever! lol).
In the “alleged” haunted basement of one shop, we found this neat old hall-tree that has a history of being haunted itself. Legend has it, you can see a face in the mirror that isn’t your own. I had to take a picture:

In a pile of stuff on a table I found this old NRA belt buckle. I think my dad bought one at a county fair once for fifteen dollars:

After a couple hours, I was starting to suffer from caffeine withdrawal and wanted to find the holy grail of bean juice:

Ah… just what the doctor ordered:

As soon as we walked in the door, I knew I loved the place.
I was greeted by a cozy atmosphere:

And the world’s BEST sign:

Then a nice lady gave me the object of my affection:

But then when JL said, “Aren’t *you* going to be the one to pay her??”, I replied:

So he forked over the clams for the beans and all was well with the world:

It was a long drive home and I was tuckered out:

But I had fun like I always do, thanks to JL’s idea to take this little vacation away!
MWUAH!

Most excellent trip. btw I think the long hair look is better for you. I compared these photos to some of the shots on your myspace. Not that my opinion matters.
Every 18 months like clockwork, I donate a 14-16" ponytail to Locks of Love. Been doing it for about 15 years. Check it out. :D
